Richland (Etat de Washington, USA) est la ville qui est née avec le site d’Hanford, le berceau de l’industrie nucléaire. Ses habitants ont travaillé à la production du plutonium de la bombe de Nagasaki. Depuis la Seconde Guerre mondiale, la fierté n’a jamais quitté les habitants pro-nucléaires de la région, certains que “leur” bombe a apporté la paix. L’identité du coin : le champignon atomique, la bombe ou la molécule d’uranium. Bienvenue dans la patrie atomique ! Pourtant, le site d’Hanford est la plus pollué au monde après Tchernobyl, et les conséquences sur la santé poussent certaines victimes à préserver une vigie citoyenne.
